Geofilter mesh is a black, net-like geosynthetic material manufactured from polymers such as polypropylene or polyethylene. It is a novel filtration material designed for landfills, primarily used for subsurface drainage filtration, surface infiltration filtration during closure, and leachate filtration and collection. These geofilter meshes comply with the national standard CJ/T437-2013, "Geofilter Mesh for Landfills," issued by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development.
The geofilter mesh is engineered to effectively filter various types of landfill leachate. When installed over the leachate collection and drainage layer, the mesh regulates leachate flow while preventing waste materials from migrating into the drainage layer.
With its specific pore structure, hydraulic properties, and high porosity, the geofilter mesh effectively filters groundwater and prevents clogging of the groundwater drainage layer. Additionally, it offers excellent UV resistance; its strength remains intact even when laid on the landfill base and covered with a gravel drainage layer. Key product features include:
1. High drainage capacity (equivalent to a one-meter-thick gravel drainage layer);
2. High tensile strength (for the 200g/m² specification);
3. Reduced risk of geotextile intrusion into the mesh core, ensuring stable, long-term drainage;
4. Ability to withstand high, sustained compressive loads (capable of bearing approximately 3000 kPa);
5. Corrosion resistance (including resistance to acids and alkalis) and a long service life.
